Gakken Classroom

GAKKEN CLASSROOM VIETNAM’S CURRICULUM

At Gakken Classroom, children learn not only how to get the right answer but also much more.

  • Through correcting mistakes through trial and error, children practice patience, concentration and determination not to give up. That helps children have the ability to endure and adapt to any situation.
  • Children learn how to control themselves and work in groups through strictly following the rules of Gakken Classroom because then they will be in control of their own learning.

The curriculum is divided into many levels and is exclusive to Gakken Classroom Japan, including Level 10 ~ Level 4 corresponding to students from 5 to 11 years old.

CURRICULUM AT GAKKEN CLASSROOM

Not only calculation ability, the ability to think, make judgments and express oneself is also cultivated.

The secret to excelling in Mathematics is to have the ability to think logically. In Gakken Classroom’s learning materials, we focus not only on training children in calculation skills but also in the thinking and problem-solving process. By understanding the “nature of the thinking process”, children will acquire logical thinking skills and thereby build solid learning capacity.

Complete Primary Education Curriculum! Good support for school lessons!

Gakken Classroom’s teaching materials include the contents of primary education according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Education. In Gakken Classroom’s curriculum, children can learn all the areas of Mathematics that they will learn at school: Numbers and Operations, Geometry, Measurement and Mathematical Relationships, Data Analysis. Moreover, there will be deeper knowledge than in Textbooks, children will be able to improve their real thinking ability by finding solutions on their own without the guidance of teachers or tutors.

Level 10 (equivalent to older kindergarteners)

Children learn about numbers, order, quantity, and clocks. Children will do exercises on separating and combining numbers within 10, which is the basis of addition and subtraction.

In addition, children will perform many tasks such as rotating and combining shapes and looking at things from different directions, and develop skills that form the foundation of learning geometry.

Level 9 (equivalent to grade 1)

The content is equivalent to that of a first-grade elementary school student. We will lay the foundation for children’s future Arithmetic, such as understanding the basic concepts of numbers, quantity, size, and the nature of addition and subtraction.

Level 8 (equivalent to grade 2)

The content is equivalent to that of a 2nd grade primary school student. Children will have a deeper understanding of the meaning and representation of numbers, learn multiplication tables, addition and subtraction, and measurement units such as length (cm, mm, m) or volume (dL, L, ML).

Level 7 (equivalent to grade 3)

The content is equivalent to that of a 3rd grade primary school student. The range of integers has expanded to hundreds of millions, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division of many digits, decimals, bar graphs, spheres, etc. are all practiced thoroughly and meticulously.

Level 6 (equivalent to grade 4)

The content is equivalent to that of a 4th grade student. Children will learn how to write division, approximate numbers, line graphs, etc. The difficulty increases with many calculations that combine multiple calculations.

Level 5 (equivalent to grade 5)

Content equivalent to that of a fifth grader. Students gain a deeper understanding of the properties of integers such as even, odd, multiples, and divisors, and learn addition and subtraction of fractions that require division and fractions, as well as the areas, dimensions, speeds, and proportions of squares and triangles.

Level 4 (equivalent to grade 6)

Content equivalent to that of a Japanese sixth grader. In addition to multiplication and division of fractions, ratios, and inverse proportions, students also learn content related to junior high school, such as axes of symmetry, centers of symmetry, expressions containing letters and equations containing variables, ratios, etc.
